La Poda Corta, El Grano 2021

Swapping the Loire Valley of France for the Rapel Valley of Chile, French winemaker Denis Duveau established La Poda Corta in the mid-90s. Although having now passed the reigns to his son, Gregoire, the El Grano Carménère 2021 is still produced with an unmistakably French/Mediterranean flair. Dark cherry-red in colour, it is extremely expressive on the nose with heady notes of blackcurrant, liqourice root and eucalyptus. Well balanced and with a concentrated, rich and classically peppery finish, it's a wine which will definitely leave you wanting more.
